Crochet a Vintage Collar 

This is the original written pattern which I found and crocheted. Tried and tested, you can add on more scrolls to make it longer depending on the yarn size you are using. You can add or reduce accordingly because the pattern is worked scroll per scroll, so this is easy. I used #20 cotton yarn with a Hook size of 1.6mm. I made 13 scrolls on the neck edge and 12 scrolls for outside edge. Skipped the silver buttons altogether.

Follow the easy step-by-step instructions of this vintage crochet pattern to make this fashionable crochet collar. There is absolutely no charge for personal use of this easy collar pattern in crochet. 

Required Materials
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY The Famous "PURITAN" CROCHET COTTON, Article 40: 2 Balls Chartreuse for Collar, 2 Balls Chartreuse for Belt or Color of Your Choice OR The Famous "STAR" SPANGLED CROCHET COTTON, Article 40: 4 Balls Chartreuse Spangle for Collar, 4 balls Chartreuse Spangle for Belt or Color of Your Choice 
Steel crochet Hook No. 0
45 Silver Buttons
2 Hooks

This crocheted collar is made with a double strand of thread throughout.
To crochet a belt which matches this crocheted collar, work same as collar but having 28 scrolls or length desired having even number of scrolls. Overlap scrolls at top and lower row and sew in position if desired. Tie buttons in center of each scroll. Finish with 2 hooks working a small loop between 1st and 2nd scroll from each end.

Step-by-step instructions 
1st Scroll: Ch 9, join to form a ring, ch 4, turn.

2nd Row: 21 dc in ring, ch 4, turn.

3rd Row: Dc in next dc, * ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * 10 times (12 open spaces), ch 3, turn.

4th Row: Sc between 1st 2 dc, * ch 3, sc in next space, repeat from * 9 times, ch 3, sl st in last space.
** Ch 9, sl st in 9th st from hook to form ring, ch 4,turn (next scroll started).

Next Row: Same as 2nd row.

Next Row: Dc in next dc, * ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * 10 times, ch 1, sc in ring of previous scroll, ch 1, turn.

Next Row: Sc between 1st 2 dc, * eh 3, sc in next space, repeat from * 9 times, ch 3, sl st in last space.

One scroll faces upward and the next scroll faces downward, one is on right side of work and the next on wrong side.

Repeat from ** 15 times, cut thread, turn.

Finishing for Crocheted Collar
9 scrolls are neck edge. 8 scrolls are outside edge.

Ch 80 for tie, sc in 5th loop of 1st scroll of the 9 scrolls at neck edge, 1 sc in each of the next 4 loops of same scroll, * ch 3, skip 3 loops of next scroll, 1 sc in each of the next 5 loops, repeat from * across next 7 scrolls, ch 81 for other tie, turn.

Next Row: Sl st in 2nd st from hook, 1 sl st in each remaining st of ch, * 1 sl st in each of the next 5 sc, 1 sl st in each of the next 3 sts of ch, repeat from * across neck edge, then work 1 sl st in each st of ch for other tie. 

Press under a damp cloth overlapping top row of scrolls about 14 inch. Tie buttons in position in center of each scroll.
